Once land is developed, opportunities for future parks and community green spaces can be difficult—or impossible—to replace.

Growth should help create stronger neighbourhoods, not reduce opportunities for recreation and community connection.

Young families should have the opportunity to build their future in Wasaga Beach.

That requires housing options that meet the needs of residents at different stages of life.

As Mayor, I will support responsible housing solutions that help create opportunities for families while ensuring growth remains aligned with infrastructure capacity and community needs.

As Mayor, I will support a proactive approach when planning for future healthcare, housing, and senior care needs.

This includes advocating for:

The best time to advocate for these services is before shortages become crises.

One of the responsibilities of local leadership is looking beyond today's challenges and preparing for tomorrow's opportunities.

As a pilot, this is something I have practiced throughout my career.

Pilots are trained to think ahead.

We don't wait until we run out of fuel to look for an airport.

We don't wait until we're in a storm to decide where we'll divert.

We constantly monitor conditions, identify emerging risks, and plan for what lies ahead.

Good leadership requires the same mindset.

The best leaders do not wait for problems to become crises.

They identify challenges early and take action before those challenges affect the people they serve.

Wasaga Beach is one of the fastest-growing communities in Ontario.

Growth brings many benefits, but it also creates increasing demands on schools, healthcare services, recreation facilities, emergency services, long-term care, and other community infrastructure.

Too often, governments wait until a problem becomes a crisis before taking action.

By then, the community is already playing catch-up.

A growing community cannot afford to plan that way.

As Mayor, I will support a proactive approach to community planning that identifies future needs early and advocates for solutions before shortages develop.

The goal should not be reacting to growth.

The goal should be preparing for growth.

The successful effort to secure new high schools is great news.

The need was obvious long before the schools were approved.

The community benefited because people spoke up, pushed for action, and kept the issue in front of decision-makers.

The same approach should be applied to future community infrastructure needs.

Success should not be measured by how quickly we respond to a crisis.

Success should be measured by whether we prevent the crisis from occurring in the first place.

As Mayor, I will support regular monitoring of:

A successful municipality is built by the people who serve it every day.

Behind every completed project, every maintained road, every community event, every building permit, and every resident service request is a team of dedicated municipal employees working to make Wasaga Beach a better place to live.

These employees are more than staff members.

They are our neighbours, parents, volunteers, coaches, and community leaders.

They are part of the community they serve.

Yet too often, the people responsible for delivering results receive little recognition for their efforts.

A stronger community starts by recognizing the people who make it work.

Municipal staff should be free to focus on serving residents without being drawn into political disputes.
