Wasaga Beach doesn’t need political resets, it needs new leadership focused on completion, stability, and new leadership focused on moving projects forward responsibly.
For too long, municipal politics has operated in cycles where new councils attempt to undo, delay, or restart the work of previous councils simply for political positioning. That approach wastes taxpayer money, creates uncertainty, slows progress, damages public trust and discourages investment in the community.
Our community is growing rapidly, and major projects, infrastructure investments, and redevelopment initiatives are already underway. Responsible leadership means reviewing projects carefully, improving what needs improvement, and ensuring taxpayers receive value, not tearing everything down and starting over for political reasons.
Wasaga Beach must be seen as a stable, reliable and forward looking community where responsible investment and long-term planning are respected.
This includes supporting major community building initiatives already in motion, including the Destination Wasaga Plan. We should continue building on that momentum while ensuring transparency, accountability and a stronger focus on residents who live in Wasaga Beach year round. We not only intend to support the
Destination Wasaga Plan, we intend to help elevate it to new heights as part of a broader vision for the entire community.
Any approach that unnecessarily threatens, delays, or chases away responsible development and investment currently at the table risks hurting our local economy, slowing progress, creating uncertainty for residents, businesses and future opportunities. Responsible leaders don't do things for the credit, they do them for the benefit of all.
